Building the Wall

Building the Wall

By Robert Schenkkan
Directed by Chris Alleman

In this futuristic imagining of life sixteen months after the swearing in of the 45th president of the United States, events would unravel that test every American’s strength of character: executive actions, an immigration round-up of unprecedented scale, and a declaration of martial law. Rick finds himself caught up as the frontman of the new administration’s edicts and loses his humanity.  BUILDING THE WALL is a gripping exploration of what happens if we let fear win.

To be at odds.....

In our exploration of what it means to be human in today's world, it seemed fitting to start off with the most polarizing subject of the past decade.   In Building the Wall we put a microscope to the beliefs of two sides at odds.   Although the conclusion of who is "right" or "wrong" is subject to the individual, this play allows for intellectual conversation in a world where civil discourse has long been missing.
