In October 2022, the LDTC will host its annual New York City theatre trip. The LDTC staff selects a diverse line-up of New York productions for patrons to experience and arranges group talk backs, dinner at two midtown restaurants, plus unique NYC-theatre experiences.
The New York Theatre Trip includes: three nights lodging at the Park Central Hotel, tickets to four shows curated by the LDTC Staff, and two group meals at midtown restaurants.
Week One is dedicated to the theatre lover of all things big Broadway musicals. If you love the big shows, that bring the joy, the love and the big dance numbers – this is the week for you. Week one is October 18-21. Example of shows would be WICKED, BOOK OF MORMAN, THE MUSIC MAN, etc.
Week Two is more for the theatre aficionado who wants a big musical but also want to go off the beaten path and see the odd, the obscure, or the challenging.
While there is plenty of time for sightseeing and day activities, the focus of the trip remains the theatre experiences. Over the past several years, participants have enjoyed such hits as Hello Dolly starring Bette Midler, Hamilton, Come From Away, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, The Book of Mormon, War Horse, and much more.
