Youth Camps & Classes
LDTC’s Youth Camps & Classes provide theatre-based education programs to Summit County’s youth. While students gain knowledge and skills in the performance arts through theatre, music, and dance classes, the program’s ultimate focus is to broaden perspectives, build confidence, and bolster community ties through shared experiences. The classes culminate into performances free to the public.
The Lake Dillon Youth Camps & Classes are a safe and encouraging environment for any child with an interest in performing arts. We not only take pride in developing creative passions but we allow children to work together, think outside the box, and most importantly, have fun!
The LDTC understands that schedules fluctuate and students may need to cancel their involvement in the Lake Dillon Youth Camps & Classes. We also understand that the financial strain some families may be experiencing due to the coronavirus restrictions may also require some students to withdraw their participation in one or more of our summer programs.
The LDTC's official cancellation policy for youth programs is as follows:
- If cancellation is requested more than two weeks prior to the workshop’s first meeting: full refund.
- If cancellation is requested less than two weeks prior to the workshop’s first meeting: refund minus 10% processing fee.
- If cancellation is requested after the workshop has begun: no refund.
2020 Schedule Update
Summit County's summer camp program providers have been awaiting official health policy updates and guidelines from state health officials in order to determine if and how 2020 summer programs could continue in our community. With the newest information released the last week of May, we are excited to announce that our 2020 Summer Theatre Programs will take place.
The health and well-being of your student(s) is our top priority. At this time, we are working on our Preparations for Youth Summer Workshops Policies and Procedures Guidelines to implement new health protocols in response to Covid19 under direction from state and county health authorities. We are likely to have these guidelines completed and ready to share with you electronically next week. Mandatory face masks, regular temperature testing, consistent physical distancing, ongoing hand washing and enhanced sanitation procedures will be included in the daily protocols.
We understand that families may have questions and also have different levels of comfort as it relates to policies and procedures moving forward. We are planning an online forum via Zoom to review our policies virtually and describe the class and performance schedules for the summer programs. We invite any parents to participate to learn more and ask questions regarding our 2020 Summer Programs. This interactive forum will be scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2020 at 4 - 5 PM. Details on how to register for this online forum will be sent out next week and will be posted HERE on or before June 5.
If you have determined it is best for your circumstances to disenroll your student(s) from any of our summer programs, and receive a full refund at this time, please contact us as soon as possible, preferably by June 8. As we prepare for our programs to begin June 22, having a full understanding of enrollment totals will enable our education team to be best prepared given the new guidelines and procedures.
To disenroll in any youth education program, or to ask questions, please call us at (512) 656-5926 or 970.513.1151 X 106 or email Melissa here. Please note the LDTC staff is still currently working remotely, but we attempt to respond to any inquiries within 24 hours. Please stay tuned for more information regarding program policies and procedures to be emailed next week. As we have more information, we will update our website, as well.
