The Lake Dillon Theatre Company Apprentice Program
The Lake Dillon Theatre Company Apprentice Program provides opportunities for young theatre professionals to further develop their careers with on-the-job training in their field of interest. The program bridges the gap between the educational world and the professional world by providing real work experience and credits that help build resumes and skills. Apprentices team up with professionals who serve as mentors and support them during their time at LDTC.
- Lake Dillon Theatre Apprentices earn a weekly meal stipend of $150.
- Dorm-style housing is provided.
- Free public transportation is available with local bus shuttles.
- Applications accepted beginning January 5, 2019.
- Contracts for most departments run for 10-12 weeks between May 28th - August 18th.
Please note that there is flexibility on start and end dates. We understand that students going back to school may not be available for the full term. We will consider each applicant’s availability on an individual basis as we seek to fill each apprentice position with the best candidate.

Digital Content Apprentice
The Digital Content Apprentice will report directly to LDTC’s Marketing Manager but will work with various department heads on a number of projects during the summer season.
Capturing and distributing photo/video content that supports LDTC’s Marketing, Development, and Education initiatives. Scheduling and conducting photo shoots and video interviews. Editing photos and videos, ensuring all files are stored for future access. Create/manage a film and photo diary of all youth summer camps to be distributed to parents and caregivers. Serve as videographer for our ‘Lights, Camera, Action’ week-long youth film camp. Maintenance and archival of LDTC’s photo/video library. Create a portfolio of high quality content to be used for social media marketing campaigns that tells the compelling story of our organization and programming.
Attend rehearsals, engagement/development events, special events and performances. Assist with a variety of operational and administrative duties, including but not limited to set-up and clean-up of special events, computer data entry, distributing marketing materials, and selling tickets.
Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines. Possess strong storytelling abilities, a positive attitude, and excellent communication skills. Working knowledge of video/film techniques, lighting and audio equipment and interview skills are desirable. Experience in programs such as iMovie, Final Cut, or Adobe After Effects are also desirable. Familiarity or interest in theatre and the performing arts a plus. Having your own camera, also a plus.

Company Management Apprentice
The Company Management Apprentice will work under the direction of the Production/Company Manager during the 2018 summer season.
The Company Management Apprentice will be responsible for assisting the Production/Company Manager with day-to-day tasks including driving the company shuttle, preparing employee housing, picking up/dropping off company members at the airport in Denver, being on call for emergencies, receiving and processing all employee comp ticket requests, running departmental errands, responding to housing issues, organizing company events, and performing general office duties.
Apprentice should have the ability to communicate with others effectively and professionally, excellent computer skills, and an interest in company management.
Candidate must also have a valid driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle background check. Duties may include heavy lifting/carrying items up or down stairs. Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs. Candidate able to bring car a plus.
