The Lake Dillon Theatre Company in Silverthorne, Colorado is a professional theatre working under an AEA SPT contract. The LDTC has an annual budget of $2M and is committed to enhancing the quality of life in Summit County and the Colorado Front Range by providing unique and accessible cultural experiences through the Performing Arts. We increase imagination, engagement, and empathy in our community through our performance, educational and outreach programming.

The Silverthorne Performing Arts Center, a newly opened $10m facility, is home to the LDTC.  The SPAC is the center of arts and culture development and growth in Silverthorne and the north end of Summit County.  The LDTC’s core values of integrity, impact, quality, intimacy, and diversity of programming influence all aspects of development, programming, and operations.

Job Summary

As a full time position, the Teaching Artist/Performer (TAP) plays an integral part to the mission and vision of the LDTC’s Strategic Plan at providing equitable and inclusive opportunities to the students and families of Summit County. The TAP will fill a critical role in the success of the Dual Language Outreach and Arts Integration program in the schools and community.   The TAP will take on a variety of roles within the program including performer, teacher, facilitator and mentor. Teaching Artists/Performers should have demonstrated experience in musical performance, theatre arts, and have a passion for teaching school-aged children in camp and public school settings. All TAPs will interact with students, teachers, and school administrators and are responsible for all program goals and objectives. Candidates must be committed to on-going professional development as arts practitioners, educators, and performers and to participate in LDTC and Summit County community events. All TAPS report to the Arts Engagement Manager.

TAPs will 1) serve as teaching artists in a Dual Language After School Program, 2) work with Summit School District in providing tools and resources to classroom teachers and students, 3) perform in Dual language Theatre production, and 4) (potentially) perform in other LDTC Season Productions.
