By: Jen Silverman
Venue: The Flex Theater
March 13 - 29 POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Recently divorced Sharon is an unassuming, nice Midwesterner in need of a roommate. Bronx-born Robyn needs a place to hide and start over. Comically mismatched, the unlikely duo forges a surprising friendship. Part Thelma and Louise, part The Odd Couple, and part Breaking Bad, The Roommate is a smart new comedy about mid-life challenges, chance cohabitation, and personal reinvention.
"Equal parts nuanced and comically exaggerated, The Roommate addresses themes of aging, femininity and identity in a fresh, humorous way." - WFPL
"Jen Silverman's The Roommate, a new play about isolation, second chances and the consequences of our choices, is as tragic as they come - and it's a tragedy that grows beneath peals of uproarious laughter." - Broadway World
Audience Advisory for The Roommate: a firearm is present onstage during this production. It is never loaded nor discharged, but is handled by performers.
+ + The Roommate includes adult language and themes, haze effects, and hilarious use of "medicinal" herbs. Recommended for adults and older teens. All tickets for students are at the discretion of parents and/or legal guardians.
